What will happen to the submited but not improved iconpackages like "Prosaic" (No. 127), lily (No. 184) and Volume (No. 185)?

Will they made availabel for download, when the contest is over?

there used to be a thread with links to the rejected ones that was taken down nearly as quickly as it went up.

Whether it is for the GUIC or for a straight Wincustomize.com Gallery upload/submission if a skin/work is not accepted for whatever reason it cannot be made accessible until whatever disqualified it has been corrected.

Examples would be ...

  • If a skin is already available elsewhere on the net it cannot be accepted in the GUIC submissions but by definition is already publicly available.
  • If a skin is 'broken' or breaks your computer [function] it must be rejected until it is fixed and is then free to be accepted anywhere.
  • If a skin has 'borrowed' content from other people it will need to be rejected until appropriate consent/s are included, however such would likely still preclude its acceptance for the GUIC, though it would be fine in the General galleries here and elsewhere.

....Linking to such rejected/disqualified works thus transgresses their copyright as they are already denied distribution here [the GUIC site]....

Thanks Jafo and Zoomba-it's a reasonable position, I can't argue against it with any sincerity. You make it official. It's merely a case of being disappointed that you can't get something you want.

As Zoomba said, many icon packs were rejected for "minor" reasons, so it would be great for the authors to fix them and get them up on WinCustomize.

Just to make sure you understand my position here-I'm not trying to get these IP's into the competition, I just want to download them. If there are copyright violations, then you can't make them available.

It's getting kind of monotonous saying this so many times, but this maybe can't be said often enough. This is a great event. All you people at Stardock have been kind and helpful to me and others in the forums and through Stardock Support, and you make great products as well. I appreciate your patience too, so thank you very much.
